It's the freak-end people! Hope you all had a fab week. On Wednesday, I awoke at 6.00am to get to London town for my dream job interview with Conde Nast. Even though it was the middle of the night, I was still excited to be on the train to the interview of dreams at Vogue house. I even rewarded my early appearance with a syrup of my choice in the morning latte.

Feeling a bit perkier on the train I started to apply my make-up so I'd be looking fresh for the job. This wobbly, messy application got me thinking...what is the perfect make-up for an interview? From my own, and friends, experience it is best to keep it fresh and light. Here are my tips for looking like the perfect candidate with the help of a girls best friend <3

So the idea is to keep it natural and dewy looking, think Jennifer Aniston.

To recreate Jen's flawless look follow these simple tips.

1. Using Chanel's new Aqua Vitalumiere foundation, use a small amount and spread evenly over your face giving you a natural glow from within. (£31) If the price is holding you back, buy this month's Glamour magazine and use the sample they are giving out for free!

2. Take Benefit's High beam and dot the product on your cheekbone and under your eyebrow. (£18.50) Your complexion is made instantly radiant with this 'supermodel in a bottle' as it's affectionately known as.

3. Clinique Almost bronzer (£21.50) This sheer bronzer not only provides a natural healthy glow but also protects against the sun. Apply it to your face making the shape of the number three starting at your forehead, in at the cheekbone and then round to the jawline. Do on both sides of your face to achieve that sunkissed glow.

4. Apply a light coating of mascara giving you full and fluttery lashes, using Clinique High Impact mascara (14.50)

5. Add a coat of gloss of your choice, preferably natural but if you want to make a bit of a statement with your look then your lip colour is the safest option. My favourite glosses at the moment are the collection that H&M have. Inject your lips with colour pop starting at £1.99.

Not only is this a great look for interviews but also for holidays, and any other occasion you want to keep a natural, radiant look.

Bye for now xoxo

Yoga just got serious

February's issue of Glamour is looking fabulous, with my celebrity girl crush Abbey Clancy looking as gorgeous as ever on the front cover. Her cute plaits are a definite new fad I can't wait to try and I'm loving the bright chunky knit. I can't wait to read it.

I've also been keeping up to date with Glamour's Beauty Director, Alessandra Steinherr, and her new healthy lifestyle. She looks amazing and it's all down to NO-DIETS! I think we should all take note girls and do an Alessandra.

One thing that has aided her new health plan is her new love for Yoga. The new, more intense type of Yoga - Bikram Yoga. The session is held in a heated room, like a steam room and can tone and define your body like nothing else. I'm extremely keen to try this but it seems that it's only in London at the moment. I might even venture out for this,  if it means finally beating my horrendous thighs! To be continued ladies.....

The seven year itch inspiration

Good afternoon blogettes <3
I'm having a pamper session this afternoon as I'm off out tonight and Marilyn Monroe's film, Seven Year Itch, has just come on. Wasn't she gorgeous?

I'm thinking I'm going to recreate her elegant glamour tonight using my favourite black liquid eyeliner: Bourjois liner clubbing, intense black. I'll be keeping my complexion radiant and glowing using Lancome Photogenic Lumessence (£27.50). It glides on so smoothly and keeps your complexion looking fresh for up to 14 hours, and trust me this foundation really does! It's perfect for dry skin like mine and is a perfect base for a gorgeous bronzer for that extra pick-me-up.

Tonight though I'll be keeping it fresh with just a little peachy tone dusted on my cheeks for a cute flush. I'll be using Benefit Georgia for that 'just peachy' look (£22.50)
And of course I won't be leaving the house without vampy red lips.

*Beauty tip*
Keep the eyes subtle if you're vamping up lips with bold colours. Bold lips will always get you noticed so if you're wanting a subtle but 'look at me' look then I would definitely go for bright lips and a light eyeshadow to frame your eyes.

The lipstick of choice tonight will be Rouge Volupte by YSL in Red Temptation (£21.45). This award winning lipstick is gorgeous giving you a fabulous glossy shine on your lips. And of course not forgetting Creme de Rose (Dior £19) as your base to smooth out lines and make your lips feel kissingly fab!

Bye for now xx

Let the beauty commence

So I was reading an article in Femail today about how to get the most luscious lips this year, and while they gave great suggestions including Clarins Instant Light Natural Light Perfector, they failed to mention the lip product that I will never be without.

Creme de rose by Dior is a must-have. While some may think it as on the expensive side (£19) in my opinion it is completely worth it. The lip balm has a sensuous smell and a light texture that makes your lips feel so smooth.

It's the perfect base for lipstick, you can say goodbye to 'bitty lips'. Ok, so that was a strange way of putting it but you know what I mean! It is an essential for the winter season and has spf in it for the summer - so basically a cosmetic staple. If I haven't managed to persuade you then just pop into your local department store and try a bit for yourself. You won't come out empty handed!

My beauty rating: 9/10

The only way I could fault this product is the price, but I'm more than happy to pay it because of the effect. Seriously girls, you're missing out <3

Speak soon xx

A bit daunting...

Hey! so first blog post, how scary! I'm Penny and I love love LOVE beauty products and wanted to share my passion with people who might enjoy hearing about it - my boyfriend has lost the will to live with me now!

I'm in my final year of uni at the moment and have been tearing my hair out trying to pinpoint a dissertation topic. Everyone keeps saying 'do something that interests you', and so I did just that. I somehow found a way to chat about the beauty industry in my diss! BONUS! So I'm hoping these five months left of uni won't be as bad as I first thought.

Completely forgot to add... Happy new year!! I started my new year resolutions today, only five days late, but I feel really good. A two mile jog in the pouring rain, I better be losing some *holiday weight*

How will you all be trying to work off your Christmas pounds? Or, do you have some advice to share on how to avoid piling on the pounds over the Christmas break?

Hope you enjoy my blog, keep reading! much love xx
